Hi, I'm Emily, the owner of The Pilates House
When did you start Pilates: I started taking Pilates over 14 years ago. Ironically, I started Pilates in this same studio I now own. Life can be full-circle sometimes! After my first class I felt muscles I never knew I had, and was hooked. I found pilates was the perfect workout to keep my bones strong, lean and body toned. It also helped me get stronger from 3 leg surgeries.
Favorite area to work: Core, arms, legs, everything!
Favorite band: Bon Iver
Daily must have: Workout, then coffee, my dogs.
Fun fact: I am not a red head.
Life Motto: M YOU CAN!
Meet Carrie, our Barre queen at The Pilates House
Why do you love Barre? I love Barre because it's the ultimate full body workout that also incorporates a dance vibe so it never gets boring.
Why'd you start teaching? I started teaching because I wanted to bring a fun workout to people who enjoy moving to music as much as I do. You're using strength, flexibility, endurance and balance in each class. Total burn!
Fav Music? Everything but Country!
Life Motto: Everything in life is a learning experience to make you the best version of yourself. Nothing is by accident, so enjoy the journey.
Meet Kelley + Maud, our studio mascot
When did you start Pilates: Over 20 years ago, when I was introduced to it after an injury from an accident. It was unlike anything I'd ever done before and I loved how it made me feel. I was instantly hooked! I bring an athletic twist to my classes.
Favorite area to work: Abs
Daily must have: Maud, working out and H20
Fun Fact: I'm a Christmas twin!
Meet Jennifer, aka Jen
When did you start Pilates: I fell in love with Pilates while still working in the corporate world. I was hooked after my first class and started taking training.
Why do you love Pilates: because it's a full body workout and there's so many stretches you can do in between a hard workout.
Fav area to work: Planks!
Fav band: Prince for sure. Dating myself here.
About me: My rescue dog and cat are my kids and favorite things in life. Sometimes they're better than humans! ;) you'll always find me on my lake or gardening when the weather allows.
Life motto: Life is the biggest party you'll ever be at, so live, love and laugh.
Meet Jessica, our almost mama to 3 beautiful babes!
Jess started teaching Pilates because of the changes she saw in her body after taking her first few classes.
- Why do you love Pilates? Pilates is a full body physical activity that differs from cardio and weight lifting. It strengthens and tones while teaching how to safety engage the core to assist in all movements throughout life. I also love seeing others enjoy a good workout and feel amazing, like I did and still do from Pilates.
- Daily must have? A workout, and dessert.
- Favorite band/music style? County and oldies
- Fun Fact? I've known Emily since High School, we lived (parents still do) in the same neighborhood.
Shantel is our newest mama to be, expecting her little girl in May of 2022. We hope she returns to us when she's settled with her bundle of joy! Best of luck, and we miss you. xo
